Tower Crane’s motor often damage or malfunction due to the lightning surge or strikes as it located at higher level compare to those building under construction. Occasionally, the body itself are made of metal which make it a good lightning “air rod”. Hence, the equipment location in the tower crane has very high risk of experiencing damage because of surges induced by lightning strikes.
